Brigadier Joshua or Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat was shot 15 times on July 7 2022. This incident was carried out by his superior, Ferdy Sambo, through his aide, Richard Eliezer. The 15 wounds on Joshua's body injuries, including:
- On the left side of the head, two centimeters from the middle of the back, ten centimeters above the limit of rear hair growth, one hundred and fifty centimeters above the heel, there is a round wound, five millimeters in diameter.
- On the lower eyelid of the right eye, four centimeters from the middle of the front, one point five centimeters below the outer corner of the eye, one hundred and fifty centimeters above the heel, there is an oval open wound measuring five millimeters by three millimeters, surrounded by a seam of abrasions.
- On the lining of the lower eyelid of the right eye, there is an irregular shaped wound measuring six millimeters by four millimeters, surrounded by bleeding spots around it.
- On the right nostril, zero point five centimeters from the mid-front line, four point five centimeters below the eye, one hundred and fifty centimeters above the heel, there is an open, irregularly shaped wound, the base of the nasal bone and the partition between the nasal cavities are broken. in pieces, the wound measuring one point five centimeters by one centimeter.
- On the lower lip of the left side, one centimeter from the mid-front line, one hundred and fifty centimeters at the level of the heel, there is a round wound with a diameter of five millimeters.
- 6. On the right side of the neck, four centimeters from the front midline, six centimeters below the corner of the lips, one hundred and forty centimeters above the heel, there is an irregularly shaped wound, with a palpable base of the lower jaw bone that is broken into pieces, the wound measures two centimeters by one point five centimeters.
- On the top of the right shoulder, twenty centimeters from the middle of the front, there is an open, oval-shaped wound measuring eight millimeters by six millimeters, surrounded by a seam of abrasions.
- On the right side of the chest, twenty centimeters from the mid-front line, fifteen centimeters below the top of the shoulder, one hundred and thirty centimeters above the heel, there is a round open wound, fifteen millimeters in diameter.
- On the outer side of the upper arm, twelve centimeters below the top of the shoulder, there is an open, irregularly shaped wound, the base feels muscle, the wound measures one point three centimeters by one centimeter.
- On the back of the left wrist, there is a round, open wound with a diameter of five millimeters surrounded by a seam of abrasions with the following boundaries, top five millimeters, bottom one millimeter.
- On the front side of the left wrist there is an irregularly shaped wound based on a palpable muscle wound measuring nine millimeters by seven millimeters, surrounded by a purplish bruise.
- On the knuckle of the tip of the left little finger on the back side there is an open wound with uneven edges and an irregular shape. The base shows a broken finger bone with a wound measuring one point two centimeters by zero point six centimeters.
- Right between the middle knuckle and the ring finger of the left hand on the inner side, there is an open wound with uneven and irregularly shaped edges with palpable broken finger bones, the wound measures zero point eight centimeters by zero point six centimeters.
- On the outer side of the tip of the ring finger of the left hand, there is an irregularly shaped wound, the base of the knuckle is palpable, which is broken into pieces, the wound measures one centimeter by zero point six centimeters.
- On the front side of the middle finger of the left hand, there is a wound with uneven edges, at the base of the tissue under the skin, the wound measures zero point eight centimeters by zero point three centimeters.
Sambo studied at the Police Academy and graduated in 1994. Sambo's career at the National Police has continued to climb since he was promoted from Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at the Police. Sambo served as Dirtipidum Bareskrim Polri (2019), then promoted to Kadiv Propam Polri (2020) and transferred as Pati Yanma Polri (2022). However, this brilliant career did not make him a police officer who served the country, it only made him a police officer who broke his own rules through this incident.

In building an alibi, Ferdy Sambo dragged many of his subordinates in the police to get involved. National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that 97 members of the National Police were being questioned in connection with the murder case of Brigadier J. As many as 35 of them were suspected of having violated the National Police's code of ethics. Of the 35 people, 18 people were detained in special placements either at the Kelapa Dua Mobile Brigade Headquarters or at the Provos Police Headquarters.
The panel of judges sentenced him to death but the Supreme Court did not grant it. Then the public prosecutor demanded that the defendant Ferdy Sambo be imprisoned for life because he was deemed legally and convincingly guilty of premeditated murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J and destroying related electronic evidence Joshua's murder.
